Manido Falls

July 2004

State: Michigan

Location: Porcupine Mountains State Park, western end of the U.P.

Height: 10 ?

Crest: 50-150

Water Source: Presque Isle River

Summary: The smallest of the Presque Isle River falls in Michigan's Porcupine Mountains State Park. This is not an especially scenic or interesting waterfall, but it is just above the much more impressive Manabezho Falls and it is easy to visit.

This is the smallest of the Presque Isle waterfalls. This waterfall is only 10 feet high. Its width can vary widely depending on how much water is flowing. In the spring it must easily be over 100 feet wide. This waterfall is just above Manabezho Falls. There is a set of stairs that leads to an overlook just above the falls on the west side of the river. On the wilder east side you can get down to the rocks above and below the falls.

Manabezho Falls is just a short distance downstream. Nawadaha Falls is a bit farther upstream.
